Good godd*mn. That cat who was set on fire? Well, not so much.

At least she does seem to be refunding donations. I got notice yesterday that mine had been refunded via Paypal. As for my thoughts about the sort of person who'd conduct a "sociological experiment" of this particular type and then let your friends stick their necks out for you, well, they're not exactly fit for print. Glad to see that you proved to your dad that there are some really good people. Unfortunately, you've also proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that some of them really do suck.

This was the original post. I didn't donate much -- nothing I couldn't afford to lose -- but the point is that every time my generosity is abused like this, it makes me less willing to take a chance the next time something comes up. The fact that she screwed over actual friends of hers with this stunt just leaves me boggled.
