Good godd*mn. That cat who was set on fire? Well, not so much.

At least she does seem to be refunding donations. I got notice yesterday that mine had been refunded via Paypal. As for my thoughts about the sort of person who'd conduct a "sociological experiment" of this particular type and then let your friends stick their necks out for you, well, they're not exactly fit for print. Glad to see that you proved to your dad that there are some really good people. Unfortunately, you've also proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that some of them really do suck.

I'm pretty sure she's actually guilty of fraud regardless of if she gives the money back or not. I hope someone is pissed off enough to ream her. (I gave no money, what with the job loss. I did offer artwork, though.)

I didn't donate much, nothing I couldn't afford to lose, but I'm astounded that someone would abuse the generosity of so many people like that and totally screw over their friends in the process. Well, I guess not really "astounded", more like "extremely disappointed".
