*sigh* What a day.

Sallie Mae insists that I have a payment of $165 that's 44 days overdue, although when I check my payment history on their website, it shows that that payment was credited on July 13. So I try to call them, and get told that their call volume is too high and they can't accept my call right now, call back later. They're going to screwwith my credit because they can't get payments credited correctly, and I don't need that. I also need to get that deferrment form faxed to them.

I got email from my sister telling me that my brother's new son had surgery a few days ago for stomach problems. He's a month old and hadn't gained any weight since he couldn't eat more than a couple of ounces. It seems like he's going to be okay, but I hate that I hear this stuff in email after it happens. And the worst part is that M. used the kid's name and I had to think for a few minutes about who she was talking about. I don't know that anyone ever told me the kid's name, I just knew that they had a baby boy. This is part of the reason I keep thinking lately about moving back to Memphis, I don't like the fact that I've got all these nieces and nephews and only one of them even knows who I am.

In less pissy territory, "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" is hysterical. I was kind of worried it would end up just stupid, but no. It would be vaguely amusing if you haven't seen any of the other related movies, but not hysterically funny. If you have seen "Clerks", "Mallrats", "Chasing Amy" and "Dogma", it will be much, much funnier. Tons of cross-referencing. And if you've got the DVD versions of those movies and have watched the commentaries, it's even funnier still. "Affleck, you were da bomb in Phantoms!" Watch for all the cameos, and definitely stay through the closing credits and read them. "Mewes Wrangler", heh.
