Hmm. Nineteen-year old man is arrested and accused of killing a Prince George's County cop. He's put in solitary confinement in the Prince George's County jail, when normally he'd be sent outside the county system for, y'know, obvious reasons. (Stop right here and see if you can guess how this story is going to end.) Less than 36 hours later, he's found unresponsive in his cell. Today his death is ruled a homicide, with broken bones in his neck and the cause of death listed as asphyxiation.

Boy, I bet nobody saw THAT coming.

Unlike a whole lot of people I know, I am not anti-cop. (This is not a prompt for anyone to start up a rant in comments about FUCK THA POLICE, so save it please.) I have immense sympathy for Cpl. Findley's family and friends and their loss. The Prince George's County police force, however, hasn't exactly had a great reputation on things like, oh, not shooting and killing unarmed suspects, so while I really, really wish that I could say I'm surprised to hear that an alleged cop killer didn't last two full days locked up with them, I'm just not.
