Donate some of 6A's money to a good cause
Sep. 30th, 2007 01:44 amThanks to
pleonastic for mentioning this, I'd have missed out on it otherwise.
Six Apart is offering $30 "philanthropic gift certificates" for use at Donors Choose, an organization that lets you donate to a specific project of your choosing from proposals submitted by (US) schoolteachers. You can use the gift certificate to help buy needed classroom supplies for schools in high-poverty districts(for example), and you get to decide where your money goes. It costs you nothing, 6A is kicking in that $30; you of course should feel free to contribute an additional amount if you so choose, but you don't have to. The gift certificate offer expires at 5:00 PM Pacific on Monday (Oct. 1). Details are available here. (Why does there *always* have to be wank in the comments? I'm not sure how some of those repeat offenders slipped out of my killfile, must readjust. For the record, not particularly interested in reading 6A wank in comments to this post either.)
