As Otto would say: "Aaaaaassssshooooooooooooooole!"

Somebody ripped off my driver's side mirror last night while my car was parked on the street (in front of my neighbor's house, the one who works for the police department).  Didn't hit the car and break it off accidentally--there was no other damage to the car that wasn't there already; they ripped the entire housing off, kept the exterior, the glass, and the mechanical parts and threw the remainder under my car.  To say I'm pissed off would be an understatement.  I guess it's easier to steal parts of someone else's car than it is to go to the f'ing  junkyard.

Cool, Fairfax County lets you file reports online.  I doubt it's worth me calling the insurance company about it to file a claim though, given that my deductible is higher than I suspect the repair bill will be and I'm looking to switch agents in the very near future anyway since AIG are also jerks.

Yeah, so that's how my day started.  Hope yours is better.

Strong anti-recommendation for a San Diego restaurant. Not that I'm in San Diego all that often, but next time I am, Pokéz is definitely not going to be a dining option.

I can't believe the waitress' behavior, but even more astounding was the manager's reaction to one of his staff assaulting a customer. Utterly unacceptable.

Country star accused of illegally killing tame bear
Authorities allege that Gentry purchased the bear from Greenly, a wildlife photographer and hunting guide, then killed it with a bow and arrow in an enclosed pen on Greenly's property in October 2004.

The government alleges that Gentry and Greenly tagged the bear with a Minnesota hunting license and registered the animal with the state Department of Natural Resources as a wild kill.

[...] The bear's death was videotaped, and the tape later edited so Gentry appeared to shoot the animal in a "fair chase" hunting situation, the government alleges.

Yeah. Real sporting there, champ. Takes a big, brave, manly man to shoot a penned animal, particularly a tame one. I can see why you'd want to do some creative editing to make it look like it happened otherwise. I have, quite frankly, zero support for sport hunting to start with, and this just nauseates me.
