Nobody was "disappeared." When we start doing extrajudicial blog executions, or showing up to livejournals in the dead of night in unmarked cars and putting bags over people's heads, or slicing the power cords off of other people's own blogs, come talk to me about "disappearances" and "unpersoning."

Because it's entertaining? At least until you get the bits where TNH is acting like a smug jackass and Xeni Jardin is trying to avoid even mentioning Violet Blue's name.

You know, they totally have the right to remove stuff from their archives (the issue of permanence and Web publishing paradigms notwithstanding), but they're really not doing themselves any favours being so defensive about it - TNH in particular, who's getting snippier than I've ever seen her get.

Yeah, it's starting to look like LJ over there. "We defriended her because she did something awful and she knows what I'm talking about, but I'm not gonna tell you what it is. Oh, and she's lying like a lying thing what lies." Sheesh.

I've got no horse in this race, I think everybody involved probably needs a time out and to be sent to bed without dinner. And yet, I keep reading. That probably says at least as much about me as it does anyone posting in epic threads over there and on metafilter.
