I really appreciate you posting this. We've been wanting one for a while and been reluctant to spend the money, but seeing as neither of us really had any good suggestions for Chanukah gifts, but there was a little Chanukah money set aside, we decided that that offer fit perfectly within our gift budget (usually set at approximately $50 per person before wrapping) and was something we both wanted. So, instead of surprises, I think we got Roomba.

Excellent! =) I got a Roomba Discover from Amazon a while back and I love it. Unfortunately it seems to be non-functional in a way that would cost more to repair than it did initially, so I snagged one of these ($80 less than the same thing at Amazon).

They seem to work a lot better than I expected they would. Also, they make excellent cat-tormenting devices.

I do wonder how the cats will respond to it. They're not fans of the vacuum cleaner to begin with, and this may just be that much worse for them.

OTOH, I can see it being very convenient to tell it to clean up around the litter boxes several times a day without having to remember to do it.

The one I had didn't have a scheduler; I can only imagine how much pet tormenting can go on when I can start the thing up randomly in the middle of the day. Bwah!
