Spent the weekend up at Foxwoods with D. The first word that comes to mind is "excessive". The place is HUGE. I did appreciate the smoke-free casinos though. Had an okay time, mostly watched D. play since I didn't feel like I could really afford to lose a lot of money. Once I did start playing however, I ended up with an additional $60 above what I started with (thanks to D. and the dealer giving me a tip or three on how to play). I figured if I'm at a casino and I leave with as much money as I've started with, it's a win.

Wish I'd had time to stop in Mystic on the way home, but I was expecting a repeat of the 10-hour drive up on Friday. Ugh. Connecticut traffic just sucks. It was fine all the way up through to the GW Bridge ($6 tolls? Nice scam.), and the CBE wasn't any worse than Beltway traffic during rush hour. Connecticut, however... Ugh. Five hours to get to NYC, then *another* five hours to get up to exit 92. The best was the traffic absolutely stopped on 95 to look at a medivac-requiring accident on the other side of the road. Yes, totally stopped. People parked. It's not that it had just happened, the top of one of the cars was already cut off and the helicopter was in a parking lot. Yet people had to come to a complete and total stop to take it all in. *grumble*

Today was spent trying to make sendmail work, mostly successfully. Trying to figure out exactly why it is that firewall.arinc.com keeps connecting to my mail server every 5 seconds for the last three days. Overflowing logfiles abound. Need to set up a filter for that address, I suppose. Joy.
