In a better mood today, not that it was really possible to be in a worse mood than yesterday. Not looking forward to heading home and spending all night cleaning the house instead of hanging out drinking beer and watching Judas Priest fans tailgating in the Capital Centre parking lot, but that's what I get for spending a good chunk of last weekend going to the Crucible and playing Lego Star Wars instead of cleaning. Ah well, I needed to do the former instead of the latter because it kept me from the meltdown I was on the edge of having all weekend. Dinner plans:
* Turkey, of course. Can the kitchen fairy come replace my crappy 20-year-old oven with one of these in the next 20 hours or so please? I'd be ever so grateful.
* Roasted apple orzo [Edited edit: No go on this. Damn, I was really craving it too. =/]
* Red cabbage, cranberry and apple slaw with vinaigrette
* Mashed potatoes (one batch with crab meat based on something we had at McCormick & Schmick, one batch plain)
* Dressing (one batch of
nminusone's chipotle-sausage dressing, one non-spicy)
* Garlic-roasted green beans
* Cranberry relish
* White and multigrain dinner rolls
* Enough pie (at last report: pumpkin, pecan, key lime and Snickers) to give everyone at dinner nearly half a pie each. XD
As tempted as I was, I'm not going to just give everyone a Jones Soda holiday pack instead. ;) Is it so terrible that I'm actually curious about the sweet potato flavor?

Date: 2006-11-22 07:20 pm (UTC)It's a type of pasta. Seriously, man, Google is your bestest friend. ;)
Sure, calling is fine. I may sound very stressed when you do, but it's not personal.

Date: 2006-11-22 07:40 pm (UTC)It's kind of like that. But definitely better than the dinner roll and the pea, but not quite as good as the antacid (or shall we say 'as accurate as the antacid'.)

Date: 2006-11-22 11:23 pm (UTC)The pie count currently remains at four, although I was sorely tempted to add some variety of apple pie after numerous people told me it was as much of a must-have as pecan and pumpkin. Luckily for all concerned, I only have two Granny Smiths and can't face another trip to the grocery store tonight.
So, what time should we be planning to show up?

Date: 2006-11-23 12:49 am (UTC)Trust me, the house is in particularly poor shape right now; it won't be spotless for tomorrow, but it won't be in danger of being condemned anymore either. ;)
Crap, I forgot that to resend the email from the other day with times and such, sorry. Show up around 5-ish. I'm going to shoot for having food on the table around 5:30, but you know how relative time is around here. ;)
