I do not like him (I really don't like him -- him specifically, not him as a Republican), I did not vote for him, but I respect George Allen for choosing not to demand a recount. (Even if it is to avoid generating resentment so that it will be easier to run for office again later.)

It's also an effort not to appear hypocritical, since Allen was opposed to the Gore recount in 2000.

But, yes. Even if it is George Allen, it's nice to see someone try to take the high road.

Which is funny, because I have seen a LOT of hypocrisy from the current Republican government over the years. The big example that comes to mind is the ones who cry "states' rights!" when it comes to things like gun control and then try to pass federal laws regulating things like abortion and marriage.
