From my CSA newsletter:

Right now the crop is just starting to trickle in, but hopefully, if everything goes as expected, in the next couple of weeks we will have a flood of tomatoes. Early Girls, Big Boys. Big Beef, Sun Golds, Valley Girls, Mortgage Lifters, Lemon Boys, Brandywines, Romas, and another dozen varieties I can't recall off of the top of my head.

If everything goes as planned, there will be hundreds and hundreds of ripe tomatoes each day.

Mmmm, tomatoes. Tomato sammiches are one of the best things about summer, along with lightning bugs, light until after 9 PM, trips to the beach and heat lightning.

I still think this light after 9pm stuff is weird. It's going to take me a few years of getting used to it.

And you can have all the tomatoes. For some reason, as much as I like just about any product made from tomatoes, I don't like them as themselves. It's a consistency thing, I think. That and the fact that I have a lousy sense of smell, thereby dulling my sense of taste, so that to me tomatoes are tasteless mush almost.

Oh gods, tomatoes. One of the things I can't wait for is space to grow my own tomatoes. Given garden-fresh tomatoes, I will eat them like apples til the skin peels off my chin!

It's one of the things I'm looking forward to about having a house as well, though I have no idea how the soil around here is, nor the garden schedule. As a kid, I'd go out in bare feet, into my Mom's garden, and just eat warm cherry tomatoes, straight off the vine for brekafast in the summer.
