Ever notice how your hard drive only dies when you've put off backing up some of your files? Yeah, me too. This wasn't how I intended to spend the first hour of my day. Time to go check whether Drive Guys offers a warranty, and if so, whether I'm covered. Wonder where I put that paperwork?

Get an external enclosure and you could possilbly recover what you need.

When most drives die it's usually in the boot sector so as long as the drive doesn't need to boot you should still be able to recover stuff.
