How good were my tickets to GBS last night? This is a straight shot with no zoom at all. *gloat* ;) Of course, the quality leaves everything to be desired because I didn't bring my real camera with me -- I wasn't sure whether it would've been allowed in. Based on the number of people I saw with cameras, it would've. =(
There are much, much better shots of other shows in the Flickr greatbigsea tag.

Date: 2006-04-29 07:39 pm (UTC)I missed almost the entire first hour of the show, due to my flight landing at 6, my bags showing up at 6:30, then almost half an hour to get home followed by changing clothes quickly, dumping my suitcase, feeding the cat, and heading out to the metro.

My camera's not particularly small or subtle and I had my doubts on whether Lisner would allow photography so I decided to just not bring my purse with my camera in it. I'm almost tempted to get a smaller one for such occasions, although they're rare enough that it would be kind of silly.
It was a great show, even having missed about a third of it. They were joking about the first place they played in DC many years ago being a subway bathroom. As far as size goes, IOTA and a subway bathroom are actually pretty close. ;) I'd imagine, anyway, having never needed to jump through the hoops required to get into the bathrooms in Metro stations. They were already big in Canada, and here they were in Arlington, VA playing this tiny, tiny little club. Must've been an interesting change.
