Is that a pink fairy costume on your pit bull? I love it! =)
Oh, I wouldn't go all the way to Portland to adopt a dog, I just fell in love with this fuzzy little guy's picture. If I was going to adopt, I'd look closer to home. Not that it's an issue anyway, since we don't really have enough room to make a dog happy (unless it's a dachshund) and nminusone isn't a dog person. =( I have to get my doggie fix from friends.
Yeah. The Alexandria dog jail had a halloween dog-costume contest, and since some people are sufficiently paranoid nutbags about "OMFG VICIOUS KILLER PITBULL!" that my wife wanted to make the most non-threatening thing she could think of. So she made this pink fairy-princess/ballerina costume thing. She was on TV on one of the local low-power channels even: we walked with the Mason District Dog Opportunity Group (lobbyists for dog parks; man, DC is weird) and it was like the cameraman must have never seen a pitbull in a tutu before or somethin'.
Awww, thanks! That's not even the full outfit -- there's even a little floral headpiece (http://www.hyacinthine.net/Pets/vsflowergirl.jpg) to go with the sparkly fairy wings and ruffled collar and big puffy tutu. (http://www.hyacinthine.net/Howloween/sugarplumpibble05.jpg)
There are quite a lot of other "pitty-in-pink" fairy-princess-ballerina-dogs (http://www.badrap.org/rescue/pride2.cfm) out there -- some of 'em even have their own merchandise! (http://www.cafepress.com/pbrcstore.29646410) (Next time there's a dog parade, I should get Biscuit that shirt to wear over her tutu -- very meta.)
Why do I have this suspicion that when geekchick gets home tonight she's going to say "Here he is, he followed me home (in the car), can I keep him???" *giant anime puppy dog eyes*

Date: 2006-04-20 10:06 pm (UTC)You'd think a cameraman would get out more, no?
I think your vicious killer there is absolutely adorable, even without the tutu. The tutu, however, is teh win.
