I decided to set up a Flickr account for the heck of it, and this was the very first photo I ran across. Sadly, it's not mine. The poster has several other really nice photos posted in his sets.

Am I the only one who gets half a page of empty space in people's Flickr posts on LJ?

I was amused to see that when I set up my profile, they had a "Relationship" section which included the option "Open". I didn't feel like sharing that since it potentially opens the door to annoying trolling, but I was pleased to see it there.

You need to set up your blog page on Flickr so that you can put your picture anywhere on the post.

Haven't gotten quite that far yet. =) I think the problem is with my particular LJ style and one of the tags the "blog this" function inserts automatically; I get the post and the picture, then half a screen of empty space after it.

Looking at the tags, I think it's Fernandina Beach, Florida. The poster has some other really gorgeous shots in his sets.

Yah, I see half a page of empty with Flickr posts, including yours - though your text usually wraps around to the *handwave* left of the picture.

I think it's gotta be a combination of the <br clear=all> that the "blog this" function inserts automatically at the end of the post and my journal style. If I leave it in, I see half a screen of empty space after the picture; if I take it out, the photo is cut in half by the comment line at the bottom of the entry. How annoying.
