poor little guy

Today is Setting Orange, day 13 in the season of The Aftermath, 3271.
Surgery on a guinea pig is actually much more reasonably priced than I'd expected, based on the quote I got tonight. Between the mechanic and vet bills in the last couple of weeks though, the budget's a bit blown.
Ed has got a problem with one of his eyes, and it's getting worse after we started the antibiotics rather than better (so it may not just be the scratch they found on Sunday and were treating him for). If this next round of antibiotics doesn't work, it's time to talk about surgery to remove it. =( Other than the inflamed eye, he seems perfectly healthy and happy, so I think that he'll manage just fine if it comes to that.
Medicating him is going to be difficult for me, because I am totally twitchy about anything involving eyes.

Probably a bit less than I am, given you have contact lenses for certain occassions. :-)

Date: 2005-11-02 02:27 pm (UTC)we had a scare of our own...tallulah got into some poison mushrooms and apparently ate a lot of them. we had to take her to a 24 hour animal hospital. it was touch and go, but she seems to be ok now, although the vet needs to look at her before we can decide for sure.
we didn't sleep too well last night as you can imagine.
