I can't believe we went to see the 12:01 super fanboy showing. Heh. Or rather, I can believe [livejournal.com profile] nminusone did, I can't believe I went along instead of going to sleep like I'm going to wish I had when I have to get up for work in just about five hours.

No spoilers (because it's certainly not like everybody who's been paying even a tiny bit of attention at any time in the last three decades already knows that the boat sinks what happens in the end or anything), but I'll say that I thought it was worlds better than the last one -- although to make it worse than the last one would've been a challenge I'm not sure anyone was up for. Still with the bits of excruciatingly painful dialogue though; I think if Lucas could be persuaded to make a silent movie with lots of Jedi ass-kickin' action, that might be ideal.

Oh, and there was a trailer for "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", which balanced out the awfulness of "The War of the Worlds".

No Lion With and the Wardrobe trailer here. We did get War of the Worlds and The Fantastic Four and Batman Begins.

And I won't post anything about it for a few days.

Titanic. There were urban legends of people in line being upset when they overheard "the boat sinks" since they now knew what happened.

The person I saw Seabiscuit with, when I made some mention of newspaper reports about the match race, said, "Wait -- you mean this was a real horse?"

Susan looks nothing like that. Nothing.

I am heartbroken because I have YET to see it. I had the oppurtunity to, but my mother was the only one around that night and her question was, "Isn't this going off the deep-end a bit? IT's pointless. You can't go"

So yes, it is at this point that I'm convinced that I'm adopted... or at least that she's my stepmom... or an alien.

Yesterday, I told someone, "I really loved the movie as long as I didn't listen to any of the dialogue." They looked at my like I was from Mars, and went back to speculating on whether or not Luke was really a Jedi, since he hadn't finished his training before Yoda died.
