Hmm... actually, with banded-on memory, one could transfer 1 GB or so over modest otherwise-jammed distances, but lossage would be heavy and frequent resends necessary. I'm surprised that the military hasn't investigated avian IP for battlefield transfers as a backup when RF and satellites are jammed or unavailable...
