Y'know, I've decided I'm not going to put this stuff in a filter anymore, it's easier to not than to keep up with who does and doesn't want to read it. Plus, it's something that's important to me. I'll cut it though, which should make it easier to scroll past if you're not interested.

Sunday, January 9: 176.5 lbs
Sunday, January 16: 172.5 lbs

That's even with the insane number of Toll House cookies I've eaten in the last two weeks. I know it will slow down quite a bit once my body gets used to having a big salad for lunch most days instead of fast food. Too bad I can't try the "switch from regular soda to diet soda" again, that trick lost me 20 lbs over a few months. (Er, that should give you a clue as to how much Diet Coke I drink.) I suspect I'm not going to be happy when I get my cholesterol reading back. If I can just break myself of the fast food habit, I'd feel much better. As it is, I've done more eating and cooking at home in the last couple of weeks than I have in a few months, so there's a step in the right direction at least. I want to get back down to 150 for my first goal, which would be my pre-Depo weight. My lowest adult weight ever was 125 and a size 10 (in high school, when I was on the swim team); I'll think about whether getting there in anything resembling a healthful way is possible or not sometime later.

I'll try not to think about the gorgeous dress I just bought that won't fit me very well at even ten or fifteen pounds down. I'm sure there's a good tailor somewhere locally who can work with stretch velvet.

I broke out the "Yoga for Inflexible People" DVD again today and worked through about 2/3 (30 minutes) of the first strength and flexibility workout. It is indeed a workout for someone like me, who is neither fit nor flexible at the moment. Followed it up with 30 minutes of DDR in workout mode, which is much more fun than going to the gym and staring at the back of the person on the treadmill in front of me.

Depo is eevvilll... maybe not completely, contraception-wise, but I've yet to meet a woman whose health and weight (and libido) didn't suffer afterward.

If you lose 15 lbs and the dress doesn't fit, I will personally offer to pay for the alterations, :) As well as to take you dancing somewhere, if I'm lucky.

How about a mirena IUD if they don't cover it? Five years, incredibly low hormone dose (many women find they don't menstruate though), it's a progestin only method, and there's no work involved beyond checking the strings once a month? It may be more of a challenge to get one because you haven't had a child, but it's not impossible.

Thanks for posting the link to Essure; I don't like that it's ultimately only a barrier method, but it's something for me to consider for the future. I wonder why I'd never heard of it?

Yoga for Inflexible People

Must investigate this.

Go you on the loss. I'm down 10 lbs. since right before New Year's, thanks to switching from phones all day to floor control all day most days. Of course, now I'm going to be back to phones all day again with the promotion. At least with a 1/2 hour lunch, I'm eating better since I'm taking my lunch.

You know, it's a perfectly wonderful feeling having your clothes swirl around you, particularly if you're not used to it.

I know this.

Does high school really account as 'adult' weight?

If so, I'm so in trouble. :/

I was thinking about buying that Yoga for Inflexible People DVD. It sounds like what I need. I'm so out of shape now that my old Yoga tape is too challenging. (Sigh.)

Four pounds in a week is good work; being healthier and feeling better about yourself is the best reward of all, and that seems like a good step in that direction! Congratulations; I know that changes in how one eats are not always easy.
