geekchickAnother night unable to sleep. Joy.
C. and I decided pretty much yesterday that it's time to go to San Francisco. I got email from my ex S. in Berkeley saying that his birthday party is going to be Sept. 16 and 17, so a bit of poking around on cheaptickets.com found $330 r/t tickets with less than three weeks advance purchase. Woohoo, we're off on a vacation! We're spending just about a week out there, the 14th through the 20th. It's weird, it must be time for me to finally get to spend time with everybody I haven't really seen in a long time. Haven't seen S. in a couple of years, neither of us having much call to be where the other one is located. I may also see my other ex W., whom I see occasionally because his job brings him into DC from time to time.
After this vacation though, I'm going to seriously start worrying about the money situation; I've got plenty to live on for a while, but I'd just feel so much better if there was a more frequent paycheck coming in. I'm busy working through my "teach yourself perl" book and a basic DHTML book to try to add some stuff to my resume. I kind of miss doing actual web site development; the last few years I've done way more server admin and system administration work than anything else and my web development skills have started to atrophy. Then perhaps I'll post a profile on guru.com and let the headhunters have at. Hopefully.
