I'm back. Good god, I will never take another red-eye in coach ever again. Why on earth was that flight completely full?? (At least I got to see an incredible lightning storm; if I have to be awake and in the middle seat on the plane, *something* good should come out of it.) At some point I'll sleep, and then I'll try to catch up on email/lj stuff; if there's anything in particular you think I should see quickly, please send me a pointer.

Good trip, excellent surprise party; it was worth the trip out on America West just to see the expression on [livejournal.com profile] brian1789's face when he realized that I wasn't, in fact, in Boston. (Which is why I screened responses to an earlier comment, didn't want anyone to spill the beans that I was going to be anywhere other than where I said I was. ;))

Coach red-eyes (heck, any red-eyes, IME) definitely are teh suck. Middle seats more so. I'm always wasted for the entire following day.

Glad you're back safe. Sounds like it was a good time! :-)

I do love lightning storms from above or the side at night.

The main reason I hate red-eyes is that I just can't sleep on airplanes. It's not that I'm a nervous flyer, I just can't seem to get comfortable to sleep.

Red-eyes scrape... I avoid them when possible. Full red-eyes in a middle seat in coach? Augh. Ick. Shudder. Five hours of confined discomfort...

I've written about the party over in my journal, and will anyway thank you and C. for being part of my best birthday ever. I was stunned... (grin). And I have a lovely picture to send you, dear.

(Being a Brian-sandwich wasn't so bad, either ;)

But I went to Boston hoping to see you!

And I was generally hoping to see people.

But you're right, I didn't realistically expect to see you, even though I do seem to see you a lot when I'm in Boston.

In the past, as you know, there were some time periods where we saw each other more up there than locally!
