How on earth are they going to continue this show without Jeff?

Steve: "You understand that there's a difference between real life and low quality lesbian porn?"
Jeff: "You don't know that. You don't know what woman get up to on their own. Why reject the only evidence we have?"
Steve: "It's not evidence."
Jeff: "It might be, maybe women are completely different when we're not with them. Maybe they're not cross all the time."

I don't know how they're going to do it -- so many of the stories turned on his peculiar way of looking at sex and dating.

Having seen Season Four... quite well, actually, though they take a couple of episodes to ramp things up. But yeah, I miss Jeff. The New Guy (Oliver) is much more painful to deal with at times. That said, by midseason they *do* integrate him into the chemistry.

I've seen about 4 episodes - I knew Oliver was going to fit in when the other guys assured him "Any woman you know, Patrick's slept with her. Welcome to the club" :P

I do miss Jeff though, he was an absolute scream! Any word of him appearing in anything else?

Jeff is my hero! :-) The absence of Jeff was devastating. Even his slightly strange return in a dream (well, kind of a return, but...oh, you'll see) was no substitute.

Richard Coyle is currently doing a very odd-horror/mystery program called Strange with Ian Richardson (http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/strange/). I'll be interested to see it if it ever comes over here.

That was my concern as well, but we've now seen all of series four. They did a good job of making the new regular (Oliver) not just a replacement Jeff. He was a little more irritating at first, but I appreciate that they made him his own character and, since he was planned as a beau for Jane, they also didn't throw them together right away. He takes the whole of series four to integrate with the cast. All said, series four doesn't lose a beat, IMHO, with regard to the writing and acting. Toni and I have ROTFL much.

i'm a little relieved that the odd guy i saw in the promos for the new season of coupling wasn't another actor playing jeff, but another character altogether.

that being said, i will miss richard coyle a lot.

"jeff, are you in fact, spanking man?"

Jeff's the dream girl

I was most amused to see Jeff return in the form of Steve's old math teacher. My hat's off to that actress, she did a great Jeff. Which is just bizarre enough a concept to help me get over Jeff's departure.
