I know that it probably sounds whiny to complain that I'm having to spend money that was intended for a vacation, since it's not like I have to make the choice between paying the huge vet bills or eating for the next two weeks. I'm incredibly lucky that this is the case for me right now and I am not unappreciative of that, however much it might sound that way. I'm just a bit disappointed that the total needed to buy tickets for this much-anticipated vacation was almost within reach, and now I'm back to square one-and-a-half (I'm not totally wiped out, but I won't be able to buy the tickets with the next paycheck as I was planning.).

Seriously, it's your journal and it's not up to anyone reading to decide if your being whiny or not. Quite frankly, you were very restrained, I thought.

This vacation is important to you. The soul needs feeding as well as the body, sometimes. And having it threatened is upsetting.

P.S. I hope Nibbler is doing better -- please keep us posted.

Oh, my post wasn't occasioned by anyone other than myself telling me I was being whiny. I just realized that there are a lot of people who are in a position where paying $600 or $700 in vet bills in two or three large installments would make the difference between eating for the next week or not, and I wanted to remind myself that I'm very fortunate that I don't have that particular worry myself, especially in the current economy.

I do hope that things work out and the baby piggie can come home soon. I also hope you get to go on that vacation - need petsitter?
