Jan. 17th, 2001 01:59 amOh look, someone's been trying to log into my online account management site for one of my credit cards. I got back from the gym and found email from my credit card company saying that "For [my] security, [my] account has been locked out because the allowable number of incorrect login attempts has been exceeded." Since I had logged on once, and successfully, today (and wasn't even home, much less online when the email was sent) I will chalk it up to someone having gotten a hold of a list of usernames. I'll ask tomorrow when I call to unlock it and change the password if they had a lot of users locked out. Several people recently have mentioned that they've found fradulent charges on their credit cards (people who never shopped at Egghead, even); something to watch out for it seems. How annoying.
