> Summary:
> Coordinate the updating of the Museum's website to ensure visitors to the
> site have current information and are provided with an exceptional web

> Essential Responsibilities:
> Update regularly the Museum's website. Coordinate with and collect
> information from all contributing departments and website contributors.
> Write/rewrite copy to established website standards. Convert copy to HTML
> format. Work with technical staff and/or consultants to ensure website is
> easy to navigate.

> Identify, develop and recommend story ideas, linkages, current information
> and graphics that enhance the interest in and readability of the website.
> Convert approved copy to HTML format.
>
> Monitor website traffic. Understand, interpret and analyze site usage.
> Recommend additons and deletions to website.

> Review and answer in a timely manner, using approved standard responses, all
> incoming website emails or forward to appropriate staff and follow up with
> staff to ensure timely responses to visitors. Advise appropriate managers of
> trends.

> Prepare and present reports summarizing website acitivity and visitor's
> responses to website.

> Identify and report website performance problems.
>
> Maintains historical archive of website changes.
>
> Minimum Education Required:
> BA/BS degree in writing, communications, marketing, public relations or
> related fields.
>
> Minimum Experience Required:
> Two year's writing, communication, marketing and/or public relations
> experience, preferably with a museum or historic site including at least one
> year hands-on writing for and/or developing websites.
>
> Skills and Attributes:
> Strong verbal and written communication skills
> Meticulous follow-up and attention to detail
> Ability to work collaboratively with others
