Aug. 8th, 2002 04:15 pmToday is Setting Orange, day 1 in the season of Bureaucracy, 3268.
Augh! Someone posted a link to http://taratangoshoes.com/ and I'm doomed. I want these like you wouldn't believe. Do I dance? No. Do I desperately want these shoes anyway? Mmhmm. I am not allowed to buy more shoes until I get rid of at least one pair currently in my closet. I feel like Imelda Marcos looking at my closet. Of course I only wear one or two pair on a regular basis, naturally. I'm doing better though; I did send several pair to Goodwill along with some clothes not all that long ago and I think I have a possible good home for some others.
I think the world is about to end: I was in bed before midnight last night. And asleep by 12:30. (I tried to read more of Cordelia's Honor for a while, but the words started moving around the page and I took that as a subtle hint that I should sleep. You were right, M., I do like it.) Got at least eight hours of sleep, about two hours more than I normally get, and still managed to wake up exhausted and headachey and brain-dead enough that when I got to work I promptly deleted one of the search indexes which I'd left running overnight because I thought it was the one that had timed out. "Oops." I'm better now though, I've had coffee. And I'm generally bouncy and happy and glowy; I'd probably want to smack me if I was someone else. =)
