May. 27th, 2002 08:01 pmToday is Boomtime, day 1 in the season of Confusion, 3268.
Spent today downtown with
anotheranon and my former boss E. and several of her friends at the Corcoran for the Jacqueline Kennedy exhibit. A wonderful mix of clothes I'd kill to have made in my size and things that made me think "Sna?" (like the neon pink vaguely jumper-like outfit). For some reason the black leather pillbox hat (yes, really) gave me visions of weird "House of Yes" type scenes.
The bad part of the day came when I realized that I had pulled out the tickets and put them with the bag I was intending to take, only to change my mind at the last minute and carry a different bag without transferring the tickets. I came to this realization about a single Metro stop away from my destination. =/ Luckily for me, it was a surprisingly slow day and there were tickets to be had at the museum; I'd have felt really bad about
anotheranon trekking down there only to be turned away.
I spent an hour and a half on the phone with my old roommate last night when he spontaneously decided to call me, talking about random stuff and trying to decide whether or not I'd be able to hit the Edmonton Folk Festival again this year. (Unfortunately not right now, no travel planning in more than the theoretical until C. is employed again, even if I did find a Northwest flight for $488 and some change. *whine*)
Tonight the general plan is to try to recover from this weekend's near-continuous exhaustion and maybe actually get to read this time. And if I'm really lucky, be asleep by 12:30. It could happen. Really. In the meantime, I think I'm going to go grab a beer and watch the storm from the balcony. I could never live anywhere that doesn't have thunderstorms...
