geekchick: (weird)
I'm not allowed to buy any more full albums from the iTunes store unless they're new releases (Eee! Balligomingo remix EPs!). I recently downloaded a copy of Talvin Singh's "OK" and thought "wow, I really like this album". I discovered this morning that I must've already known that, since apparently I have a copy sitting on my CD rack that I've had for close to a year (based on the name of the store on the price tag). D'oh! I still haven't quite equalled the "they have a third album?" story yet, but I'm getting close. (Story: C. was looking for something on one of the CD racks and pulled out a CD. He said, "Wow, I didn't know [whoever the band was, I don't remember] had a third album! When did you get it?" I looked at it and said that it wasn't mine since I don't own anything by this particular group, so he must've bought it at some point.) Having too many CDs is not a bad thing though, unless and until you have to pack and move them.

Today's musical discovery made while driving back from lunch:
Me: "Gah, it sounds like new Spinal Tap. It can't be new Spinal Tap."
Announcer: blahblahblah "Growing on Me" by The Darkness blahblahblah
Me: "Oooh, so that's what they sound like. [back in the office] Google. Clicky-clicky. "Okay, still not convinced it's not actually Spinal Tap." Watch video. Wait for Stonehenge to appear. Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' guitars is no basis for a hit song! So. Much. Fun! [livejournal.com profile] electriccat, if you haven't seen these guys, you must watch the videos.
