Jan. 15th, 2002 01:49 pmSecond day of new job, and I'm slightly more awake today. Three cups of coffee probably don't hurt in that regard. Taking a bit of time out for lunch and to catch up on journals before I get back to poking around and figuring out how the site works.
Nothing quite like forcibly wrenching your body off its natural schedule and switching from going to sleep at 3:30 am to being up and in the shower at 7:45 am. Ugh. I was like the walking dead yesterday; luckily it was mostly spent setting up the computer and getting a bunch of stuff installed so I can be productive later. At least last night I had no trouble falling asleep, unlike Sunday.
One thing that I'd forgotten about having to commute into an office is how little time I feel like I have when I get home. It felt like I barely saw C. yesterday at all, as I didn't get home until after 7 thanks to trying to debug an Outlook file import problem (which still isn't resolved). After a trip to the grocery store and fixing dinner, it seemed like there were only a couple of hours to spend together before I had to go to bed. Maybe if I needed less sleep... Quite a change from both being home all day. I'll get used to it eventually though, I'm sure, especially once he's employed and commuting again too.
Okay, time to get back to something resembling productivity so that I can cut out on time tonight and still have time to make it to the gym.
