Where do I want to go today?
No, it has nothing to do with my OS. Yesterday I went out for a drive
out west again, out 29 past the Manassas Battlefield Park until I hit 15. 15 is a lovely little drive, out through rolling hills and farms and horses grazing and the sun setting over the mountains. (For Virginia, they're mountains. For someplace with real mountains, they're hills.) I took 15 north until I crossed the little two-lane bridge over the Potomac and headed into Maryland. I'm not sure why, but being in Maryland just *feels* different. The road changed from a two-lane road through fields and little towns, barely more than wide spots on the road, into a more obvious highway, and then into a four-lane divided highway. Very few places to conveniently turn around, and I ended up a good part of the way to Frederick. Nice little jaunt, although coming back turned into a bitch. I thought I'd be smart and take 7 back to 28 and then down to 50, since it would be faster than going back down 15 to 50. I would've gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling night paving crews. =P So I spent just under three hours driving around and thinking and generally enjoying not being in the house. Now I have to figure out another route.
Hm. My cat seems to have taken an intense dislike to my stuffed Cheshire Cat (on sale at the Disney store 40% off, woohoo!) on my monitor. He's sitting on top of the hutch and every couple of minutes he reaches down with his paw and sends the toy flying across the room. It's not quite as bad as the fuzzy hair frob that he seems to think absolutely must be killed ("grrrr. *chomp* *shake* *fling across the room* *chomp* *kick*")
