Oh god did that ever suck. I never want to move again. Ever.

And now I'm dealing with the crappy "cuts out every 15 minutes or so" dialup again because our DSL provider won't talk to Covad until we get our first phone bill. It took an hour and a half to get the dial-up networking connection to work properly, and much frustration.

I do not recommend using AIM on your wireless web-enabled cellphone if you get frustrated at having to type on your phone's keypad. It's a pretty spiffy idea, but the implementation is a bit lacking as far as ease of use is concerned.

But on a happier note, we've got a proposal in that may get us some work. I've gotten several dings from headhunters on monster.com, some of which were almost interesting and reflective of my reality. I'll admit the one that started out talking about my experience with systems engineering almost made me delete it, but then I read further and it turns out I actually do have some of the skills they need. And the article on cnn.com about how Unix skills are now at the top of the desired tech skills list made me feel a bit better.

Mmmmm, wasabi.
