moving sucks, part xxvii
Apr. 9th, 2001 05:22 pmTaking a brief dinner break and getting in some email and catching up on what's going on in the world.
Ugh.
Down to the food in the kitchen, the stuff in the office (computers and Chris' desk, mostly), and all the random crap that just doesn't really fit well in any of the boxes. I condensed it all in the living room, so that I'll know when the living room is empty, the rest of the house is too. About another 4 small boxes of stuff left to go, I think. Oops. And the closet downstairs, although most of that will fit in one big box (mostly coats).
And then...cleaning. *grump* I've cleaned two of the three bathrooms and vacuumed the upstairs room, the top two flights of stairs and the master bedroom. One more bathroom, the kitchen *shudder*, the office and the living room left to go. And I'm finding all kinds of spots where kitties with upset tummies went hork at some point in the past. I get the feeling I'm not going to bother shampooing the carpet as they're likely to replace most of it anyway. That's why they charge us an extra $25/month in "pet rent", I suppose.
And once we finish here, I get to spend the rest of the week unpacking all the crap we just spent the last week packing. Let's see how well I remember where stuff is; I've already forgotten where my leatherman is, even though I specifically left it someplace that I'd be able to find it easily for unpacking. Oh well.
Turns out our phone is turned on already, which suprised me. And someone called us, which annoys me to no end as I'm pretty sure I haven't given that phone number out to anyone yet, I had to ask Chris what it was even. So much for having an unpublished number.
And with that last little whine, dinner is finished and it's time to go back to work.
