(no subject)

Why is no one answering their phones today? I was sure my brother had voicemail or an answering machine, and I have to get ahold of him tonight to find out if the estate already paid any taxes due or if I'm complete fucked because i don't have any of the numbers I need.

we're paying HOW much for this place?

I was trying to make myself feel less claustrophobic by unpacking my clothes and such and putting them in the closet. Our closet has those wire shelf-type things for stacking/hanging up clothes. I'd gotten through my dresses, sweaters and skirts and had just started in on my blouses when the entire wire shelf thing for hanging clothes on liberates itself from the wall and falls down, giving me a nasty thwap on the shoulder. So now I have no useful closet (the closet in the last place had no problem dealing with my clothes at all), and probably a nasty bruise on my shoulder too.

$1500 a month and we can't even get a functional closet. I hope to god the balcony is constructed better.

I think instead I'm going to unpack my stuffed animals and go sit out on the balcony (cross your fingers that it doesn't fall down too) with my cat and my stuffed bunny that Wolfy gave me and enjoy the fact that it's still 75 degrees here with a nice warm breeze. And I'll read some more of Devi: Goddesses of India that I picked up at Raven. I think I hear a gin and tonic calling my name too.
