Unrelatedly, this is making my eyes bleed. David Hasselhoff. There's not a lot more to say than that. This is either the funniest or the most terrifying thing I've seen in a long time.

Oh yeah, when my boss at the time came back from visiting her son who was stationed over there, she was like "you'd never believe how HUGE David Hasselhoff is in Germany". I suppose of Jerry Lewis can be huge in France, David Hasselhoff in Germany makes as much sense. =)

It is one of those little known laws, like the law of conservation of Michael Caine (for every good movie Michael Caine is in, he must be in a bad one).

This is the law of bizarre European fixations on American entertainers. In Italy, for instance, Tim Thomerson (Jack Deth, for those of you who have seen the Trancers series) is so popular there's been talk of just overthrowing the government (the one in power this week) and just making him Il Duce.

Parker Posey is so beloved in Solvenia that she dares not visit that land again, lest she once again be mobbed by a crowd of men demanding to make sweet whoopie, and a crowd of women announcing they're ready to experiment, provided it's with her.

And Treat Williams..well, let's just say that many children in Latvia are named "Treat," and have been ever since DEEP RISING was out in theaters there.

And I would never, ever, make any of this up! ;)
