Date: 2002-03-14 12:16 am (UTC)I have to embarrassedly admit to a) having a Bjork-allergy (an ex-boyfriend used to have this major thing for Bjork/Sugarcubes, and...overdose.); b) having been busy enough in the last half decade that I'm not up on current bands.
When I was younger, I used to make an effort to go to every Lollapalooza, and I wondered why, as people got older, they seemed to crystallize in their musical tastes, not keeping up with current music. Oops, I became one of those geezers!

On the plus side, at least we did get a (single, solitary) VNV gig for once, back in November (the 'Futureperfect' London launch gig), and it was good... :-).

Date: 2002-03-19 10:12 pm (UTC)I would indeed believe it. =) Kind of like how I was looking for the other signs of the Apocalypse when I heard that the Oysterband was going to be playing a US date last year. ;) (Although I am less surprised about the Oysters not doing US dates than I am about Siouxsie not doing UK dates.)
You could always spend a few days in DC and see both Siouxsie AND VNV Nation; there's even a package ticket deal going. ;)

Date: 2002-03-16 08:41 am (UTC)It's been years since I went to a rock concert: I got sick of the fees paid, the inevitable stink of cigarettes/weed that got attached to you, and all the other thousand annoyances of a concert....and that's if the band didn't give a lousy performance. (I saw Jesus & Mary Chain three times..and they *STANK LIKE THE PIT OF HELL* each time ) The last when I went to see was Belly, in 1994 I think.
I saw Siouxsie exactly once..at the first Lollapalooza. And it was easily the single most electrifying performance I've ever seen a musician give.
*sigh* Oh, for the heady days of early 1999, when I had so much money I could have easily justified this.
