Today is Sweetmorn, day 46 in the season of Chaos, 3168.

What a completely unproductive week. Well, not completely unproductive as I managed to get a good start on a proposed template to overhaul the public web site with. 65,000+ files. Luckily not all of them (and in fact, probably not most of them) need to be put into a template as they're benchmark results and don't need to be put into a common template. I'd forgotten just how hard good user interface design can be. Couldn't stand to look at potential search engine replacements any more this week, but I need to get back to that next week. Joy. I'm also reviewing some resumes for folks to come in and do a little Access development for us, which at least gives me a little break from trying to figure out whether we should use swish, htdig or just upgrade our copy of glimpse and put a nicer interface on it. Bleah. At least I have Monday off to not think about it. Instead maybe I can consider updating my own web site as it's been a while and some of the information is now out of date.

It seems my sweetie D. sent me a box of chocolate yesterday. But it went to the wrong address. <teasing>It's not like I've been at this new address for almost a year or anything. ;) </teasing> I told him that based on our experience trying unsuccessfully to get a package of Chris' that got sent to the old address (and that he could prove was for him by describing everything in the box without having seen it, how it was shipped and to who, and having picture ID that says he used to live at that address) from the current residents he should just assume that the jerk who lives there now has opened it and eaten it, because he's certainly not going to give it to me no matter what. =( Bummer. It was a sweet thought anyway, and I'm pleased and surprised even if it didn't get to me.

[I'm not sure why, but I have been suddenly seized by a desire to go over to the Toys 'R Us across the street and hunt down a Larry-Boy or the singing Larry who dances to "The Hairbrush Song". I cannot explain it, and I really need to not do that until after I pay the phone bill and the Speakeasy bill and the gas bill. And Middle Pillar has been calling my name for months now too. Prioritize, woman! Bills first, then either toys or CDs, but not both. Not this month anyway.]

(grin) I don't suppose that D used, er, another web florist for the chocolates?
