Jan. 26th, 2002 02:58 amToday is Sweetmorn, day 26 in the season of Chaos, 3168.
1. What color has Cathy's hair never been?
Black. Surprisingly most people were positive I'd never been a blonde. Bzzzt. =) I actually started life with dark blonde hair, which gradually darkened to the brown shade I have now (and for once, I actually know what the real color looks like as I'm letting all the dye grow out for the first time in more than a decade). I also dyed my hair blonde in one of those unsuccessful ways that results in Velveeta orange hair when I was in high school; I then resolved to never, ever do that again.
2. Where did the nickname "Geekchick" get acquired?
My sweetie
shayde dubbed me "geekchick" and it stuck. It was pretty evenly split between people who guessed that and those who thought my boss gave me the name.
3. What kind of degree does Cathy have?
I am the proud owner of a very expensive and quite useless piece of paper that says I got my BS in Spanish. Yes, it really is a BS and not a BA, and yes I think that's pretty weird too.
4. How long has Cathy's longest relationship lasted?
Five years so far, in some form or another. Three was a popular choice, and that's how long I've been with my live-in partner. Another even split betwen five and three.
5. Where was Cathy born?
I was born in Virginia and lived in Reston for the first two years of my life. Then my parents moved to Memphis where I lived until I came back to DC to go to college.
Memphis was the most popular choice, which makes sense as I do say that's where I'm from.
6. Cathy's favorite book is:
Jane Eyre. I'm a sucker for gothic romances. I'm kind of surprised so many people got it right, as it beat out Programming Perl by one vote. That one seemed like a logical choice, but it's not one of those things I read purely for fun. =)
7. Cathy is the product of:
Catholic girls' school. Immaculate Conception Cathedral High School for Girls, to be exact. Probably that explains a great many things about me.
8. Cathy is employed as:
Okay, this one wasn't really fair. Even split between system administrator and webmaster, with one vote for software developer. My current job title is "webmaster", but what I've been doing for the last several years previously was a combination of webmaster and system administrator so it would be pretty easy to assume I was a sysadmin. As far as software development, I can't program my way out of a wet paper bag. ;) Yet.
9. Cathy's favorite color is:
I can see why most people picked purple, but the answer is actually green. For a very long time while I was dying my hair (a natural shade of) red, if my clothes weren't black they were a nice shade of dark green.
10. If forced to subsist on a single type of food, it would be:
Sushi. Shock! ;) The only two choices selected were sushi and Chocodiles and diet coke. I admit that if I couldn't have sushi, the Chocodiles would probably be up there above Thai food. ;)
Wolfy remained highest score at 70, with the mysterious "testing" at 60, followed by a tie between Greg and A. at 50. I admit my curiousity as to who Michael is as well; say hi if you're reading. =)

Date: 2002-01-26 08:54 am (UTC)I'm the mysterious "testing." I assumed that I'd do horribly, and didn't want to own up to it.
"Michael" is aka "Misha," my husband. He waves at you and says that he went to Craigmont High School in Memphis, and knew some people at IC. He doesn't think he knew you, but of course that's just a matter of time. :)

*laugh* Small world strikes again. Another escapee. =) I was at IC from 85-89, but I don't think I knew anyone from Craigmont at the time. (I lived waaay out in the 'burbs in Mississippi so didn't know too many people that I didn't actually go to school with.)
