Man, Facebook comments are approaching online newspaper site comments for sheer, unadulterated WTFery. The ACLU is a racist organization and they're the ones to blame because the university isn't bringing back a mascot they ditched almost a decade ago? Dear friends and family: I like y'all just fine, usually, but some of y'all's friends are just plain ignorant.  Thank $deity for that "Block" button. Maybe I should make my ACLU donation in your name, ya jerk.

Yeah, I get a lot of that kind of stuff from former classmates. I usually ignore it, keep posting my own views and generally get removed from their friends list.

Nah. It was a friend of some of my friends re: the Ole Miss mascot thing. Apparently you can blame the ACLU and the NAACP and "other racist organizations" for the fact that Colonel Reb hasn't been the on-field mascot for the university since 2003 or something like that. Let's not look to hard at the many, many leaps of illogic contained in that position, because it might cause brain explosions.

I only have one family member who spouts drivel I cannot possibly agree with - no further commentary needed on that front.

But the classmate thing has me stymied. "Dude, why are you friending me? YOu went out of your way daily to beat the crap out of me, and now your profile pic has you smiling and holding a gun, not to mention you're at LEAST 400lbs, and you think we have something in common?"
