The weekend was nice (although to be honest, when you aren't really working or are working from home, it's hard to differentiate between weekday and weekend). We had some folks over to char some food and hang out. Since we were thinking there'd probably be an additional four people (11 vs 7), we've, um, got a bit of food left over. Hot dogs and veggie skewers for days! ;) At least the chocolate cake disappeared. That triple chocolate cake from the bakery cooler at Giant might have been the best $6 I ever spent.

I managed to throw my back out in the shower on Saturday afternoon though, about an hour before folks showed up. Doesn't that make me feel old. I'm still not sure how it happened, but our working theory is that my desk chair and my posture therein is somehow causing me to do horrible things to my back, which is probably supported by the fact that I can't sit in front of my computer for more than 15 minutes or so without my back hurting again. Perhaps a visit to a chiropractor is in my future.

After finally hitting my limit last week and getting to where I'm sick of the thing that's been bothering some of my sweeties for a while, I've made a concerted effort to start and continue taking my vitamins and taking NADH in the morning. It seems to be doing a bit of good, as I'm noticing more inspiration to actually do things rather than sit around and say "I should do X."

For many months I actually spend more on vitamins and related stuff than my rent (I was living in Mexico, so my rent wasn't high..but still). This was after traveling around and perhaps being a little malnourished due to a lack of fresh fruits and veges. I kept very good records and read a lot of medical research. More than 80% had no appreciable effect, but I still take Folic Acid and a multi because of the strength of the research. What things had a noticeable effect on energy? NADH, DHEA (mornings) and Melatonin (at night). These last two are pre-hormonal, so more isn't necessarily better. I also exercise an hour a day now, religiously, although I hate exercising. Because it keep my back from hurting.

And as quote goes: Getting old doesn't seem so bad when you consider the alternative...
