geekchickExciting times at the old homestead. *cough*
We finally reassembled the closet shelf that fell down when I tried to hang my clothes on it. They put that wire Closetmaid stuff in all the apartments here, and let's just say that the construction was pretty shoddy (the braces that were supposed to hold the shelf up were screwed directly into the drywall, without anything to keep them from coming right back out). So we (by which I mean "Chris") overengineered a solution to allow me to hang my damn clothes up without ripping fixtures out of the wall. I really don't think I have that many clothes that it should've been a problem. Guess all that velvet is heavier than I thought. Just more inspiration to go through my closet and bag up a bunch of stuff that either I haven't worn in way too long or I'll never fit into again for Goodwill.
I just sent my resume off to a staffing company for a 4-week HTML coding gig. I suspect the response will be "you're way overqualified for this" (because, frankly, I am), and even if not I suspect the pay rate will be fairly low. But low pay is better than no pay.
I also got mail from guru.com with an invitation to bid on a project. I can tell it's not from a headhunter, as the project involves doing something I've actually done before. ;) I'll have to take a look at it, but my Cold Fusion skills are pretty atrophied at this point.
Perhaps today I'll go to the maul and see if I can find one interview-appropriate outfit. I have nice business clothes and suits and such, but they're all from at least two sizes ago. =( That's it. Maul and then go to the gym to work off the frustration of trying to find something in my size that looks nice. Ugh. Of course going to the gym implies that my toe is healed up enough that I can put on my gym shoes without wincing in pain.
