And so Larry went to Delphi, where he was told "If you swallow that company, a mighty stock price will increase."

Three weeks later, he came back really ticked off, because IBM, not JAVA, was the mighty stock whose price increased.

Back to the future... in this case, back to early-80s "database machines", which were essentially minicomputer servers optimized to run relational database software. Ironically, Oracle killed off the concept, in its early days, by being almost as fast on multiple platforms.

I'm not sure if this is going to be horrible or not, but better Oracle than IBM, IMO.
