Apr. 3rd, 2008 01:58 pmIn honor of the holiday, I'm considering trekking in to Alexandria to Cheesetique for a bit of a nosh. They've recently (as in "last week") opened up a cheese and wine bar in the back of the store, which
chadu and I discovered by sheer luck last weekend. A glass of wine each and the three-cheese plate with olives and a bread basket ended up being a very filling dinner for two for not much money. We had a raw milk Manchego, a gouda of a variety whose name I don't remember, and the Bayley Hazen blue. I don't generally like blue cheeses, but I gave this one a try; it was actually fairly tasty, especially combined with a bit of the quince paste. I don't think I'm a blue cheese convert yet, but at least I'll go so far as nibbling at it.
