They point out that if you were planning on coming in January and haven't already got a hotel room booked, you might well be out of luck already. I suspect if you're willing to go much farther afield, your chances are somewhat better, if not a lot. (And, er, from another article: "The Courtyard Marriott downtown booked close to 30 rooms just hours after Senator Obama won the presidency. 'We've had to revisit our rate strategy as a result of the demand being so great,' said Penny." [emphasis mine]) Any of y'all planning on making the trek?

Right about now I consider myself fortunate to live in the DC metropolitan area. I'm planning on taking the commuter bus to and from DC if I manage to score tickets for the swearing-in ceremony. I already have my requests in to the appropriate congresscritters.

Probably not, although my friends radven and serolynne say they're driving over... I imagine they could use a place to park their RV-trailer home for a few days, if you know of anyplace? And there's some chance that patgreene might...

Yeah, I thought I'd seen Cherie's mention of being in town. I can't offer parking though, because our HOA bans campers parked anywhere in the neighborhood (including out on the main street).
