geekchick: (sick)

Decided to take advantage of some of my sick leave to sleep in this morning and see if a couple extra hours of sleep, some Zyrtec, and a hot shower helped with the allergies. I maybe should've just stayed home all day, but I was feeling worlds better post-shower. That lasted until about 10 minutes before I pulled in to the office parking lot, which is when some combination of meds suddenly hit and I got Extra Stupid. Is Zyrtec non-drowsy? I didn't think to check before swallowing some before I left the house.

Robitussin is turning out to be a surprisingly useful debugging aid though. Connection problems I spent a few hours trying to figure out on a previous day were tracked down in under an hour today.

I thought Zyrtec was non-drowsy. It doesn't make me loopy, and I use it everyday, as I am allergic to nature, and all Her goodness. :(

Zyrtec can make you drowsy. You could try loratadine (generic Claritin®) as an alternative.

Zyrtec is NOT, I repeat NOT non-drowsy.

It'll fuck a bitch up.

I am so stupid on Zyrtec it is not even funny. And Fred can't take it at all or he falls asleep at his desk.

For me, Robitussin causes small differences in how I perceive things visually... can be slightly disorienting. But I can see how some slight perceptual tweak might help in debugging?
