Laptop's been restored, minus all the accumulated cruft.  Of course it's also without all the programs and data I had on it, but I'm sure that'll all pile back up shortly.  Let's see how many of my various passwords I've forgotten thanks to Firefox's "remember passwords" feature. =/  One positive of all this is that I've finally merged  90-ish GB of music files into one location here at home, since I had to get files off the laptop drive.
