Things that are not helping me concentrate on doing actual work on this grey, overcast day in my freezing cold office: looking at listings for vacation rentals on the Amalfi Coast for me and anywhere from one to eleven or thirteen of my closest friends.

The fact that my alarm is set for 8:00 and I got to sleep around 4 AM, only to be woken up by somebody (whose name and number I did not recognize, and they left no message) calling at 5:28 and then again five or ten minutes later, isn't helping the concentration much either, truth be told.

I want a vacation. </whine>

ouch... I get that periodically from well-meaning East Coast friends and relatives calling my home landline at 8:15am *their* timezone... (nods).

This was someone local. I'll assume they thought they were calling the doggie daycare place (the one with the number annoyingly similar to ours) to make an appointment.

Eek. They were calling the kennel to make a reservation at *5:18am* ?? Are vets and kennels and such usually open for non-emergency calls that early, in VA? Out here, good luck finding a human before 8am...
