I have nothing to say, really. I just wanted to use this icon. (Made by [livejournal.com profile] active_apathy.)

Okay, there is this one thing: Do I watch the original "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" first, or do I go straight to the MST3K version? I currently have both at my disposal.

I say go straight to the MST3K version, but that's just me. After all, it's not truly the holidays until you've sung along to "It's a Swayze Christmas."

Personally, I've never been able to stand MST3K. It always seemed like the ultimate in American couch potatohood. I can do my heckling just fine, I don't need some half-assed actor trying to do it for me.

half ASSed actors are hard to read?

"Mine is a seasonally appropriate laugh." *dies*

I say be a purist, and MST3K it yourself first. It might actually be funnier. But then, this summer, I introduced an 11-year-old to Plan Nine, the original, and thoroughly enjoyed this young person's own horrified discoveries of the midnight/broad daylight/midnight intercutting in the chase scenes, and Tor Johnson's having to be shoved up out of his "grave." So I may be biased. :D

*grins* It's one of my favorites. Self-made (obviously - but the font was perfect, and the quote rather spoke for itself) from a review [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda did of an early episode of "Lost". Never watched the show, but I read her stuff on it pretty consistently for a while, purely for the inevitable bellylaughs.
