Substitute "Montgomery County Agricultural Fair" for "circus". Thinking about going on Sunday; they have pig races and a Cheese Booth and fried food on sticks and a demolition derby sponsored by the local Chevy dealer. *snerk*

Waaaaaah! The fair ends Saturday, not Sunday, and I'm busy all day Saturday. Also, yesterday was apparently the cheese-carving competition. Who knew?

D'oh! fizzygeek has Saturday off, so maybe she and I can go, depends on how energetic she is once we get back to the east coast. But without the cheese, what's a heaven for?

Apparently cheese plays a big part at this fair. Now that I know, I'll make sure to look for it next year.

In general, yesterday was a high point for cheese aficionados at the fair. In addition to the carving contest, the program included the ceremonial cutting of the 550-pound round from northern Wisconsin that by fair tradition is aged in a special location and monitored by cheese handlers.
