This stunt makes jerks who post "Deathly Hallows" spoilers randomly on LJ look like complete amateurs. (via baiku)

NOTE: There are no spoilers in that post as of right now, it's simply a story about how someone got spoiled completely randomly.

Roger Ebert lost my respect, completely, totally, and (to date) permanently, because he did a random piece of spoiling.

I've never been much of one for reviews, but I was in the living room, on the couch, about 2/3rds of the way into "The Name of the Rose" when he, from the television in the other room, said, "and I don't see why anyone would kill all those people over, "x", it just seems silly."

At which point I saw the entire trajectory of the conclusion to the mystery.

Oh, I was pissed. Yeah, most people probably wouldn't have see it (one has to be a bit of a scholastic type to make the philosophical connections) but it pissed me off.

Ah, looks like it got deleted. The upshot was that the poster said they got spoiled while sitting in their own backyard thanks to someone renting one of those planes that trails advertising banners and having it display spoilers.

No idea if it's true or not, although a couple of commenters said they'd seen it too.
